He hit them harder than ever before.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis hit reporters like never before when he called them out for allegedly asking backhanded about a new piece of legislation in Florida.
Currently a new bill called HB 1557 is being heavily protested in Florida which aims to give parents more rights about what their children are learning in schools.
One of the new laws in the bill gives parents the “fundamental right to make decisions regarding upbringing & control of their children.” Another rule would prohibit schools from letting school officials withhold information from their parents.
What has made the far-left very mad however is that in this bill schools will be prohibited from teaching kids about topics such as gender identity and sexual orientation until kids reach a certain grade level.
The exact text from the bill says, “Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.“
Tempers flared however when one reporter asked DeSantis, “Can I ask you about rights in education, what critics call the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill is on the [Florida] Senate floor –“
DeSantis interrupter sternly and said, “Does it say that in the bill? Does it say that in the bill?”
The reporter interrupted again and DeSantis fired back, “I’m asking you to tell me what’s in the bill, because you are pushing false narrative. It doesn’t matter what critics say.”
Reporter: “Critics call it the Don’t Say Gay bill”
DeSantis: “Does it say that in the bill?”
Reporter: “It bans classroom instruction on sexual identity and gender orientation.”
DeSantis: “For who?… Grades Pre-K through 3.”
