Pence is a traitor!
Former Vice President Mike Pence in now begging Republicans to look past the 2020 presidential election and took a veiled shot at former President Trump by claiming that “there is no room in this party for apologists for Putin.”
According to the Associated Press, Pence’s comments came during a speech in New Orleans for the Republican Party’s top donors. Pence hit Republicans who have yet to condemn Russian President Vladimir Putin for the invasion of Ukraine.
“Where would Russian tanks be today if NATO had not expanded the borders of freedom? There is no room in this party for apologists for Putin,” Pence stated. He then said, “There is only room for champions of freedom.”
Pence didn’t dare to say Trump’s name however it is clear that he was referring to Trump because in the past the former president once referred to Putin as a “smart” leader and Trump also claimed that the invasion of Ukraine wouldn’t have happened under his watch.
Pence ignored the important fact the when Trump called Putin “smart” what he was trying to explain is that American politicians needed to be smarter with how they dealt with him and that Putin shouldn’t be underestimated.
Later, Pence talked about the election once against smearing Trump and said, “Elections are about the future. My fellow Republicans, we can only win if we are united around an optimistic vision for the future based on our highest values. We cannot win by fighting yesterday’s battles, or by relitigating the past.”
