Republicans aren’t happy about this one!
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham once again reiterated his message to former President Donald Trump that he strongly believes he should move on from talking about the 2020 presidential election and focus ahead to 2024. Graham further explained that he believes Trump is only “hurting his chances” at reelection by doing so.
According to The Hill, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked Graham if he supports Trump coming back in 2024. Graham responded that “it’s his nomination for the taking,” however he believes Trump will have a harder time winning if he keeps looking back to 2020.
“Donald Trump is the most consequential Republican in the Republican Party today. He has a great chance of being president again in 2024, he’ll start comparing what he did as president versus what’s going on now, and how to fix the mess we’re in,” Graham stated.
“If he looks backward, I think he’s hurting his chances,” Graham further explained.
Graham then angered a lot of Republican voters and warned Trump yet again to move on from the 2020 election. “If he continues to talk about the 2020 election, I think it hurts his cause and quite frankly, hurts the Republican Party,” Graham explained.
