This is outrageous!
In a stunning turn of events, it now appears that former President George W. Bush is sending money to Republicans who turned their backs on Trump during his presidency.
According to Politico, Bush sent aid to Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s (R-Alaska) in an attempt to get re-elected at the end of 2021.
Bush donated the maximum allowable donation of $5,800 to Cheney last October. Cheney currently has hauled in $4.7 million.
Bush also sent the maximum amount to Murkowski which was $2,900. Murkowski ended 2021 with $4.2 million on hand as well.
While the money Bush sent to both Cheney and Murkowski will not significantly impact them when it comes to re-election, it shows where Bush’s loyalty stands in the Republican party.
Currently, Trump has endorsed Harriet Hageman to replace Liz Cheney and he has also endorsed Kelly Tshibaka to challenge Lisa Murkowski.
