You won’t believe what he did after congratulating Biden.
After shockingly congratulating “President-Elect” Joe Biden for defeating President Trump in the 2020 election, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell doubled down on his support of Biden and told Republicans to accept Biden’s presidency.
According to the Washington Examiner, McConnell then warned lawmakers to not block Biden’s win on Jan. 6 during the Congress vote to certify to election outcome.
“There was encouragement on the phone for us to accept the result, as much as it’s not what we would have envisioned for the next four years, and to try to do what’s best for the American people, which is to look forward,” Sen. Shelley Moore Capito said following McConnell’s call.
“Many millions of us had hoped the presidential election would yield a different result, but our system of government has processes to determine who will be sworn in on Jan. 20,” McConnell said earlier today on the Senate floor.
